I’m always drawn to landscapes that are challenging to paint—like this scene, where only a path of lanterns and a faint glow from the sun’s reflection in the sky provide light. The small format adds to the complexity; capturing a miniature landscape requires care and precision. To evoke the night’s atmosphere, I used fine brushes and a great deal of patience. When I look at this painting, I’m transported back to those quiet evenings, gazing out the window and savoring a slightly melancholic stillness.
